I have:
-Win98 -MediaPlayer 7 -All the latest codecs (including the 3F Tsunami) I can't play certain AVI files still. Most are okay, but some won't work. This happened when I only had the version 3 DivX codec, and I still can't play this AVI file with the new codecs. What is the problem? Can someone help me out? I don't want to download a new player just to view movies. Thanks. |

Have you tried opening/playing the AVIs in other players? I had a couple of files that WMP just wouldn't play that worked fine in The Playa and Virtual Dub ... also any AVIs that I add copyright/title info using AVIUtil won't play in my WMP (for Win XP) ... if the AVI opens in virtual dub I guess you could rebuild the output by setting both audio and video to "direct stream copy" but I'm no pro in these stuff and I'm pretty sure there are better solutions ...
