Question Problem entering codec settings

Hi folks,

I´d appreciate your help with a little problem I´ve encountered: I cannot change any of the settings for the DivX-Codecs I´ve installed. I heard that normally you can enter the settings by just right-clicking on a divx-video-file, then entering advanced/properties/divx/codec. I tried doing this in WMP8 or the Explorer, but couldn´t enter the codec settings. (Also, when playing back divx-files in WMP8, all I get is a grey picture; that´s why I want to enter the codec settings in the first place...).

So, if anyone knows how to fix this problem or help me understand, I´d be grateful.

Unhappy Problems still...

But just because I´m running a higher version of WMP means that I cannot modify any of the settings for the codecs I´ve installed??? I mean, the codecs aren´t really depending on the WMP to work, as I can use other DivX/Avi/whatever-players as well.

Why not use a different player? ZPlayer (?) lets you access the DivX settings..or is it zoomplayer?

Oddly enough, I can no longer change the properties of DivX files now myself! I suspect I'll have to re-install DivX 3.11 to get this back.

I assume DivX 4.11 messed something up, although I ran a program recently which installed the Angel-potion codecs without my knowledge. I thought I got rid of those, but....
