I have a Sony Vaio notebook docking station with a DVD player in it - type Mat****aujda 710. I am unclear whether this means I have a software DVD or hardware DVD. This model does not appear in any of the downloads that I can see.
Can anyone tell me whether I can unlock it please and if so, how? Thank you in advance |

The difference between software and hardware DVD,
is the way the DVD is decoded. Either its a program with a mpeg-2 decoder, for example PowerDVD or WinDVD ::software -or- a PCI card that decodes the DVD :: hardware in your case you wouldn't have hardware decoding. |

Thank you EvoSx. Does this make it easier to hack and if so, any ideas on how to do it?
Many thanks Ian S |
