Hello all together!
I recently updated to win xp and now experience a little problem playing DivX AVIs: In 100% view the movie seems to be quiet well, but just when I zoom up to fullscreen the antialias won't get active. In Win 98 se I always had a smooth view so that I couldn't see all the pixels in fullscreen mode. But in win xp all the pixels are still there and that makes the movie looking a little crispy... That's the only problem.. I mean the movie doesn't stutter or else.. I tried several drivers for the TNT2 Pro card, but no success... I tried WMP 8, and 6.4, microDVD, no help... by the way: WinDVD hasn't that problem playing in fullscreen mode! Is there a special DivX codec for xp or nt available which I need??? Thanks for answers! |

Sounds like a problem with your graphik-card. Try to get the newest drivers for XP. Thats what helped me...
by the way... try "the playa" or "Powerdivx ng" the best players i know (powerdivx if u have rips in dolby digital, for everything else the "playa" will do fine... have fun

this effect is due to the overlay feature of vga driver and directx!
try reinstalling both. |

Hi there again,
thanks for these answers... I tried several vga drivers for my card and had no success so I 'd like to reinstall directx now... But what to do with win xp where directx8.1 is already installed and there's no offer of directx for win xp? taking the Win2000 version? thanks! |

IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY, TRY THIS:
in windows media player, go to Tools->options->performance then check the 'fullscreen mode switch' box |

Thanks, but didn't help...
I noticed now that playing DVDs have the same problem! I realised that so late cause their resolution is of course bigger and so the pixels are smaller in fullscreen but they are here! Hmmm... I have still win 98 running on my machine too, so I will take the good old 98 for watching my avis and dvds, bye |
