Hi, anyone clear about this Region protection code thing?
I'm still kinda' confused. I figured it's about RPC locked DVD drives (hardware). Also something about the OS locking, (OS too?) And if one does not have a locked DVD drive then he'd be able to play any DVD movie (whethere it has RPC or not). Am I correct? So, solutions are for locked DVD drives. Such as unlocking or allowing infinite Region code change. What about the OS thng? Anybody heard of that? Thanks for any reply. |

The way to clear RCE issues is to run IFOEDIT on all vobs and press the region free button. This clears the RCE code from the files.
For more details read: http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/derrow/rce.html |

Great. Make DVDs region free.
Well, I did some info searching yesterday and ended up with these two: A firmware flash upgrade that made my drive unlocked (rpc-1) A program called DVDregionKiller that removes the limit on OS's and software player's rpc change. Also automatically just allows any DVD movie to be played. Thanks for the link. |
