I bought Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and I want to DivX it. However, I would like to read subtitles rather than hear the English dubbing. How do I make a DivX that is playable in Windows Media Player 6.4 have subtitles?

use virtualdub or even better nandub with this filter called VOBSUB.
it will put the desired subs into your videostream and thus can be viewed with any player you like! |
