Can anyone help
I am trying to make my laptops DVD-ROM drive region free. First thing I need to do is flash the drive with new firmware. The txt instructions tell you to run the utility with associated .hex file from DOS. Well Windows 2000 does not have a DOS that I can boot into. There is an MS-DOS emulator called Command Prompt however. I tried to use this (with windows running obviously) but the flasher utility crashed the MS-DOS widow. Is there a way to physically boot the laptop into DOS ? Any feedback very appreciated. Bob Latimer |

You can't flash firmware using an MS-DOS window in any flavour of Windows. Suggest you browse the threads dealing with this issue here:
