Full-screen overlay gone..

All my Divx clips have always been looking very nice at full-screen but not anymore. I believe the overlay function isn't working anymore. The image becomes very "blocky".
The problems began (I think) when I changed the "hardware acceleration" from full to none because the program "HyperCam" needed it. I resetted it to full but I think the overlay function screwed up somehow. I have also removed most of the video codecs I had but that can't cause any problems, can it?
I have reinstalled DirectX 8.1 and the latest drivers for my graphics-card (ATI All-in-Wonder Radion) but still no overlay in full-screen..

Can someone please explain how to re-enable overlay? Is there a way to see if it's on or off?
