I Need some help!!!
Regular Win98 sounds works just fine, but when I'm playing movies with Wp 6.4 then I'll get the message Can't play the sound stream no soundhardware present (error msg=00040258). Currently using Win98 up to date 011205. (Have even tried reinstall it just incase some system files were missing) I have also tried playing with: Virtual Dub d, PowerDivX NextGen (did'nt even start serious error msg from Win98= reboot) Have also tried installing codecs: DivX 311 Alpha DivX 322 B Flask Mpeg4 0594 Mpeg 4x Vidci263 Using Direct X 8 The Mp-sound worked fine just a couple of weeks ago with half the Codecs installed. Getting real tired of downloading Stuff that does'nt work as it should thou my conection speed is low 56,6kkb. I really Please help me, you're my only hope... |

Simple answer, get rid of WMP.
Try "The Playa" I personally don't like it much but it seems to play every file you can chuck at it!

Thanxs for your reply!
It help, but the playa is really a boring player, not because I think the wmp is so much better, but do you know any free movieplayer that's offering some more, easy to use, features that, for example, joins movie clips to one hole movie. |
