I tried searching through the threads for a similar problem but couldn't find any so here goes. I have an AVI movie I'm trying to watch. I have the DivX 3.11 installed. When WMP opens up, it first tries to download the WM MPEG4 codec, but then I get this error message: "A decompressor was downloaded for this file, but it didn't work. You may need to restart your player or browser." It then plays the audio but no video. I tried downloading the new divX4 codec and it still didn't work. I tried playing it with the Global DivX player and didn't work. I tried installing the Playa but got this error message: "The procedure entry point DirectDrawCreateEx could not be located in the dynamic link library DDRAW.dll"
I'm running WinNT with WMP 6.4. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Last edited by tanlin999; 7 Dec 2001 at 03:34 AM |

Download the codec packages in the software session. There are quite a few codecs people used. You can check which codec is used by check it using the hexviewer inside virtualDub,
hope this help |
