dvd-rw writing 2x is this speed normal ?

Is the following duration normal ??

After 54 mins my LG 4163b all singing all dancing burner has done 25% of the disc. The disc would have been 95% full going by visual bar. To a dvd-r it took 10 mins. I usually write dvd-r but wanted to see how the menu looked on the tv so opted for a Fuji DVD-RW disc. Says up to 2X version 1.1 on the box.
Using TMPGenc DVDauthor 2 for authoring and burning.
It said write speed 2X so thats as fast as the disc allows.

I got fed up and aborted it. This is impractical ,,,thats coming up to 4hrs to write a disc just to see if it looks good then do the dvd-r. I have many discs to author and burn.

probably stalled out, try imgburn and do a full format first time with disks
