Question Unusual win98se code

OK!

Re-installed windows since the fs was getting so corrupt that every second attempt to run something resulted in a crash and an even more corrupt filesystem. So now everything works, have even upgraded the cinemaster drivers and software without disaster.

But...

All the documentation on region free says that the registry key should be called 'G' something, and mine's called A<7000000.

stranger still, the value name is empty, and the value itself '=hex:09,80,89,89'

that 09,80 bit doesn't look anything like the 19,18 of the howto.

So, do I dare mess about with it (I have 4 changes left on my DVD-ROM)?
