Default The President’s iPod violates RIAA’s idea of copyright

Quote:
The Prez has Beatles songs on his iPod, showing he’s at least connected to the real world in some way. The problem is, iTunes still haven’t sold any Beatles songs, meaning he (or someone else) ripped them from a CD. The RIAA, governors of all things audio, say this is a big no-no, and not fair use.

And then we have:

U.S. Attorney General Says Piracy Leads to Terrorism

It all makes sense now ...

I was under the impression, here in the United States, as set forth in our Constitution, that the Supreme Court determined that, not some private interest group.

So maybe Bush will do the right thing and shut the RIAA down

But surely other music stores are legal? Like Wal-Mart, Napster, Rhapsody, etc? I think some of them have Beatles, just not Apples. (And I honestly prefer the others over iTunes since WMA works better than mp4 on my devices)

The problem was that the Beatles songs that Bush had on his iPod weren't available in digital form anywhere, so he (or his aides) must have ripped it from CDs, or worse, downloaded them illegally.

So when's the impeachment?

But then again, there are different rules for different classes of people when it comes to these sort of things.

It's rather alarming, the "cluelessness" of these media moguls, but on the bright side is how much of a disaster they are making with public opinion.

If I had to guess I'd say it was one of his daughters
