Got both codecs, but either get no Video or Audio ?!? Also Playa crashes when winding

I just don´t get it anymore.
I installed:
Divx 3.11 Alpha
and then
DivX 4.11 (answered question: play 3.11 with 4.11 with NO)
Now I have some Movies that work for my friends, but when I try to play them I get
- good Video, but no Audio with The Playa
(from DivX 4.11 bundle NEWEST)
- good Audio, but gray picture with WMP7,
WMP6.4, GDivX and BSPlayer
As I read that changing the Color Depth could solve this I tried, but it didn´t help.
Somebody advised me to try the Tsunami Pack 3F. Downed that and installed as described in the included .txt. Not working
Also when I try jumping to some position of an AVI by using the scrollbar in The Playa, it crashes.
I just want to be able to view all the stuff I got, without having to reinstall the whole system (Win 2000 b.t.w.) again.
I´ve read all I could find, but all I could find was some imho pretty useless advise:
"Try the newest versions of the codecs."
Well 4.11 and 3.11Alpha ARE the newest (right ???)
Hope someone here has a sollution to this. Thanks in advance
