    Source: 'Significant' layoffs at MPAA

The Motion Picture Association of America, much maligned by file sharers everywhere, has gone through a "significant" round of layoffs, according to a studio source. The source said the layoffs were well over 10 percent and more reductions are expected.

I say welcome to the club, and this is news why. They are not the only company that is laying off people. Microsoft, Motorola, just to name a few.

I hope they fired the guy who thought up the revised copyright policy?

Good, maybe now the ex employees of the MPAA will now come over to the other side and realize who the good guy really is.

Maybe now, the ex employees of the MPAA will start backing up their DVD disks and Blu-ray disks they own, anyway they want to, and not put up with the Sony, MPAA, and special interest groups telling us what we can and can't do with the DVD and Blu-ray disks we own.

With todays technology, 90% plus of any copy protection is a thing of the past.

It's more like 99% of copy protection but yeah... if it can be encrypted, it can be decrypted, and companies are stupid to keep coming up with new schemes that just waste their time and resources.
