The Pirate Bay: Piracy not dead by a longshot

Four defiant Swedish citizens may be headed to jail, but it’s a fair bet there are plenty more folks out there perfectly willing to pop their heads up in the global game of piracy. The infernal fake moles are a perfect analogy for illegal file trading: Short of unplugging the entire machine, there’s no way to completely stop the varmints from popping up somewhere else.

    Of course it's not dead.

The RIAA/MPAA is stupid if they think they can stop piracy. Just like you can't stop the sale/use of illegal drugs, shoplifting, etc. You can deal with it, but no crime can really ever be stopped.

And I wish they'd just embrace the digital age (such as some of these independent artists offering free mp3s on their website) instead of just trying to persecute everyone.
