Heh, why would it take that long? All someone has to do is encode a .flv file and use any free FLV playing JavaScript...

The time delay will probably be due to legal wranglings, rather than coding problems.

The 5 years thing, I haven't seen in many other news articles, so I'm not sure if it's accurate. The beta test site is already live (sort of):
