Default New The Pirate Bay Man Makes Nice with RIAA, MPAA

The new owners of The Pirate Bay has hired Wayne Rosso, former president of Grokster and founder of Mashboxx, to negotiate with movie and music companies to make The Pirate Bay legit, or in his own words to make TPB "turn over a legitimate new leaf".

He talks about a subscription model where users can reduce their monthly fees by contributing P2P resources (ie. upload more and you can reduce your monthly bill), although obviously this would only work with legitimate downloads licensed and possibly infested with DRM by the RIAA/MPAA.

Other than that, Rosso also swoons at his new best buddies from the RIAA/MPAA, calling them "unbelievably supportive" and people that he can "count on". No wonder, because if dismantling TPB is the order of the day, then of course the RIAA/MPAA will be extra supportive.

It's now pretty clear the TPB as we know it is about to end.
