PS3 3.00 Firmware Now Available

A relatively minor update, despite the major revision number, that includes:

* Redesigned friends's list
* Enhanced trophy support
* Dynamic XMB themes
* Premium Avatars
* A "What's New" section

As with any PS3 firmware update, might be best to wait a bit to see if there are any major side effects to the update, and check out this board for reports of any problems and possible solutions.

A brief look at the board and there seems to a general dissatisfaction with the 3.0 firmware, either due to lack of new features for such a major sounding update, or the various new issues that the update has caused. But you can't play online without the firmware, so it's not really a choice for many people to upgrade or not.
