Reports suggest that Apple may be finally willing to add Blu-ray support to its new range of iMacs due out later this year.
This comes from a report on AppleInsider, which claimed that the new iMacs are already in production and may be available for purchase soon. The other part of the equation would be adding Blu-ray playback support to QuickTime, and also whether GPU assisted Blu-ray decoding would be supported via QuickTime. Blu-ray not coming to iMacs, probably, according to well-sourced Apple blogger John Gruber (he was the one that first hinted at Blu-ray for iMacs):

Mac users don't mind, though, as long as their computers are shiny pieces of bloat that look fancier than a Windows computer, they're happy!
(Do Mac lovers even know what Blu-Ray is?? )
