Here's something for those that like collectibles, gadgets and Star Trek. You can now get the new Star Trek movie on a collectible Starfleet badge shaped USB drive. The movie uses 1 GB on the 4 GB USB drive, and the movie is DRM protected.
However, it uses DivX DRM, which is a lot more lenient than most as it allows unlimited playback on 5 registered devices, as well as the ability to burn to DVD (not sure as in "compatible in DVD players" or just a data DVD with the DRM'd movie on it). I'd just as soon get the DVD and use the "digital copy" - at least I know how to remove iTunes DRM.
1GB for the movie? While that sounds big, for a movie as long as Star Trek that's actually not very good - the iTunes "digital copies" are 1.2GB and more... so I doubt the quality is as good as a DVD either. Cool idea, but who would buy it?
