Microsoft Bans Up To 1 Million Modded Xbox 360's In Piracy Clampdown

Microsoft has banned up to 1 Million Xbox Live users that it says are using modified consoles, which could allow for pirated games to work on the console. An unmodified console would not play home copied games.

There is no information on how Microsoft determined whether an account was linked to a modded Xbox 360, but this is not the first time (and it won't be the last) for this type of crackdown. This current ban is only valid for Xbox Live, the consoles themselves will still work offline.
