French "Three-Strikes" Anti-Piracy Agency Charged With, Well, Piracy

HADOPI, the agency responsible for overseeing the French three-strikes laws, has itself been charged with piracy.

Apparently using a typeface in their logo without permission from the copyright holder, and legal action could take place, although HADOPI has since changed the design to remove the infringing elements.

It isn't the first time that the three-strikes loving French government has been caught on the wrong side of piracy, with unauthorised song use in campaign commercials, pirating pro Sarkozy DVDs, lip dubs using a song that was denied usage permission from the copyright holders and so on. This latest incident simply shows how easy it is to get on the wrong side of copyright, and how easy to get a strike.
