Sony's New Plan To Fight PSP Piracy

Sony has a new plan to fight piracy on the PSP, by forcing gamers to register titles online before they can access multiplayer modes.

The game SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 will feature this type of protection and the game will come and the UMD version of the game will come with a voucher code which must be redeemed online before online play is possible.

Intentionally or unintentionally, buyers of the second hand copy of the game will have to fork out an additional $20 to get a new voucher to play online. Game publishers have long complained about the second hand game trade, and how they do not see any profit from game resales, which also denies them a potential customer.
