    Piracy Too Sexy, Complains Content Owners

    Content owners have long used the term piracy to describe illegal downloads, because they feel the work conveys the right message of theft, danger, violence and destruction. But now, they think the word "piracy" is far too sexy and makes illegal downloads sounds too glamorous.

    "To me, piracy is something adventurous, it makes you think about Johnny Depp. We all want to be a bit like Johnny Depp. But we're talking about a criminal act. We're talking about making it impossible to make a living from what you do," said the head of the International Actors' Federation, a group that recently published a study showing piracy "could" cause 1.2 million job losses in Europe.

    One then wonders what better word groups like the IAF, or the MPAA or RIAA can come up with the better scare politicians into voting their way. Murder? Genocide? Rape? (as in "that guy went to The Pirate Bay website and raped 100 songs")
