After the new "three-strikes" copyright law was passed in the UK, reports suggest that subscription to anonymous BitTorrent services are way up, as users try to avoid being monitored by the government.
BTGuard, one of the services on offer, now say that they have just as many UK customers as US ones, with most of the growth coming in recent months. The service, for a €5.50/month fee, provides anonymous BitTorrent usage, away from prying eyes of the copyright police, and even help you escape ISP based throttling of BitTorrent speeds.
It just goes to show that those determined to download pirated content will still do so and find ways that will make it impossible for the government or copyright holders to track their usage.
