EFF launches new website section to offer help on fighting USCG lawsuits

The EFF has launched a new section on their website to help those affected by the US Copyright Group mass lawsuits, involving movies such as Far Cry and The Hurt Locker.

The new section features information on how to find an attorney to represent those being sued, some FAQs, as well as collections of news and other links relating to the cases.

"USCG has ignored or sidestepped basic legal protections granted to all defendants. We believe it is misusing the lopsided nature of copyright law, which was written largely to target commercial infringers, to shake out settlements from ordinary people with few resources to defend themselves," said EFF Legal Director Cindy Cohn in relation to the new website section.
