A developer of an anti-piracy system has turned his system into a MP3 download tool in order to protest what he sees as the industry and government's double standards in relation to fighting piracy.
Having promoted his system to various studios and anti-piracy groups, including the MPAA, Paramount, and even Australia's AFACT, and with these groups declaring they're not interested, the developer, known only as Dominic, says that these and other groups are actually profiting from piracy.
Talking about ads that fund BitTorrent websites, Dominic sees many of the ads belonging to News Corp, and even US government agencies. Annoyed at the fact that these companies are funding piracy, and not interested in his own anti-piracy system, Dominic decided to protest these actions by turning his anti-piracy tool into a music download service, with downloads directly served from the website, after the system locates the song from unnamed sources on the net and connects the user to the download via his own website.
And Dominic has promised not to take his website down until the industry and governments top their piracy funding activities and takes his system seriously.
