Law Firms Join Forces To Fight Online Piracy

The most infamous copyright law firm in the US is joining forces with the copyright lawyer that is involved in one of the most controversial cases. The US Copyright Group is now working together with Kenneth Ford, who sued thousands last year for downloading porn illegally.

The US Copyright Group, otherwise known as Dunlap, Grubb & Weave, is now helping ford initiate new porn lawsuits. "[DGW] has initiated new lawsuits today in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on behalf of our clients against nearly 15,000 Doe defendants," Ford told CNET.com

Amongst the clients that Ford represents is porn producer Axel Braun. Braun directed the adult film "Batman XXX: A Porn Parody", which is one of the illegally downloaded films that people are being sued for.

Law firms such as DGW have found resistance in the courts due to jurisdiction issues, and Thomas Dunlap, co-founder of DGW, feels the best way to combat this problem is to join forces with law firms around the country, so they can help each other file the cases in their local courts without any one law firm having to travel the entire country, seeking the right jurisdiction.
