    putting divx film on cd

    hi there can any one help me i am trying to put a divx film onto a 700meg cd the film is 700meg the dvd is a philips dvd writer capable of reading divx films, i put the film on the disk but the reader won't read it any help on how to acheive this would be much appreciated, and what software to use, cheers paul.

    Get MediaInfo if you don't have it already and post a screen shot of the info from MediaInfo for the .avi file.

    When you say the "reader won't read it" you are talking about the DVD writer on the computer?

      hi there its my philips dvd writer that won't read the disk when i put the file on a 700mb disk it says unknown disk so i have put it down to how i am putting the file on the disk, cheers paul.

        I would suggest getting Imgburn. See the guide on using Build Mode. For my .avi or .divx files I just use Imgburn Build Mode and stick all the video files in a folder and select that folder in Build Mode. Very easy. You are talking CDR not some erasable right? If using an erasable, the first time you need to format it in Imgburn. Also if you write to it on another computer it's a good idea to do a Quick Erase in Imgburn before burning. Some computers have different write strategies for the same discs and it seems to make a difference on playback.. sometimes.
