    Forward Versatile Disc (FVD)

    Just to people to be aware of a next-generation digital versatile disc (DVD) format being promoted and they will be call FVDs (Forward Versatile Disc).

    The FVD's major rivals are blue-laser formats supported by large Japanese companies such as Sony and Toshiba.

    The FAQ I wrote covers this format. It's a Taiwanese red laser format (with support of most of the big Taiwanese media manufacturers), and uses Microsoft audio/video codecs.

      Fvd and now, HVD are amazing. I just got the Once Upon A Time In China set, ALL 6, on one HVD. My computer DVD-RW can read it, and, anydvd/DVDDecrypter can rip them (with some work and know how) They got 6 SD (TV-Def) movies on one disk, using stacked recording!?! I guess this is the best thing going, as of this point. HDDVD comes out on the 28th, so we'll see then
