Can i make a dvd hd back up with my normal dvd drive?

Can i back up a dvd hd movie on my computer with a normal dvd drive, shrink and any slysoft anydvd?

a normal dvd drive of any type won't read an hd or blu-ray disk and we have a new rule, # 19, about copy protection, please read it
