yes, using the old usb 1 port, when i turned the camera on "new hardware found" popped up, and samsung dvc 5.1 media opened right up with no probs, since the card i have does not have usb 1 can not connect it to that, but thats got to be the problem....but which part? at least we are getting some direction to the problem...Comment

oh, and ive had it hooked up via firewire the entire time, i havent even tried the usb2.0 since i do not have a cable for it yet, the firewire cable was sent with the pci card.Comment

wow, im sorry fellas, i thought we were all on the same page, my fault. i should of specified, ijust throught you knew since this is the kit that was suggested and it only came with the firewire cable.
on another not it works, but its no better then usb 1.0, just playing it through the media player is choppy, i see no difference using 1.0 or 2.0, i havent even bothered to record any since there is no difference. i thought this was suppose to give me nice smooth video play? do you thinking switching to a memory card in my camera instead of the small tape would benifit any, if at all? i dont see how i can see people's home movies on the internet and looks like mine does when i transfer it to the tv via rca cables, but when i put it on my computer, or just play it through the computer is so crappy.Comment
