Utility for Cleaning Registry

Does anyone know of a reliable utility to clean my registry of all those entries of uninstalled softwares.

PS: I currently use easy cleaner and ccleaner, but they dont seem to scan all the hives.

1. never screw it up and try to go on as long as possible

2. bite the bullet, have a little fun, live dangerously,
delete system partition and start over

chewy vote #2 , but #1 is way to go at first

which means there are no good registry cleaners, some ok ones,

Hmmm, I know, I have to bite the bullet eventually, but for now Abexo registry cleaner did s good job on my XP, since its also a registry defrager.

just make sure you have it all backed up(data). the registry is
a very dangerous place to let software loose, chewy know, I am an expert
in hosing windows, getting cautious in old age tho.
Another tool is hijackthis, run scans after every install of program.

Thanks for the advise chewy, but I am even more cautious, I backed up the data also, just in case I need to reinstall , before I ran it.

That's the problem with registry fixes, unless you go to safe mode and choose
last known good, you may never get back into windows.

might be a little too late in this case for that approach

if you backup your system first with ghost(for example),you can try norton win doctor and after that repair and block http://www.repairandblock.com.
if you do one ghost image first,you can play with the whole system...i removed ~350mb of trashs in my system and everything is running ok but be secure first.do a system image before!

I use Regcleaner. It has a registry cleanup option.

I have allready gone into regedit - edit - find -and then typyed the name of know softwares that have been uninstalled then find next, hit delete and then f3 delete and kept doing that untill its finished searching.

No need to the manual search, Abexo did a thorough job on my desktop, just use the Auto mode, it searches, backs up, cleans and defrags the registry on its own. Just restart XP once to be sure.
