Right click on them and select delete.

Hi! They were little icons. I did what you said and unchecked the quick launch! So far waht I started just now didn't have a problem but that should take care of it. Thanks again people! You're all the best! If it happens again I'll run that Process Explorer but sounds like I took care of it. Thanks agaain for all your help!

This is just a shot in the dark , if your running windows xp home try msconfig turn off programs from there useing selective startup. But if your not sure about what you find there dont try it. Some programs start ever time u reboot.
