I will take that as a no.
Buy another hard drive, transfer data to it, reload windows.

i have two drives already in my computer...120 + 80 gigs...

i've actually thought of starting all over again. transfering everything onto dvds, then formatting...but, you see, i can't burn anymore...

here's the latest error log...is there anything that sticks out?

chewy, do you seriously believe that i should format my harddrive? is there anything else i could do???

when you say that the same problems are still there, which problems are they? what is wrong...? could it perhaps be a 'physical' fault, as in a faulty drive or dvd burner???

the reason this is odd for me is that up until a few months ago, i had NO problems at ALL burning this stuff. not a single hitch. now, all of a sudden, it won't let me do ANYTHING. it just doesn't make ANY sense at all...

chewy, new development; i just burnt a 'data' dvd without any problems...

so, i can burn data, but i can't burn video. does this mean anything???

yes, that's what I was trying to get you to do before, eliminate the authoring step. now post that log! a simple one, no nero vision.
If the data dvd works, then we know your media and burner and nero are fine.

chewy, the data dvd works fine...i load it into the dvdrom, and i can read the video files (burnt as data), and the video plays fine...

here's the most recent log (the successful odata disc burn) for your perusal...

virtual drives are still there but not hurting, good confirmation
                      same with pxhelp

firmware fine, media fine, burning software fine

now there's authoring geeks a plenty, but I am not one of them

                        thanks for the analysis, chewy...

do you know any 'authoring geeks' out there who could help me?

does it strike you as 'odd' that i can burn ONE type of dvd, but not the other??? i mean, it's odd to me. what could it mean?

about those virtual drives, how do i get rid of them???

haha...sheep. chewie, i have NO clue what they are for. as i said, my friend 'installed' them when he was playing WOW, and as i just read, apparently they are used in 'dubious' means, acting like a surrogate or something...

so ummm...chewy, should we perhaps move this thread back to the mainboard? to the authoring/decrypting???

man, i'm not even sure what my 'problem' is anymore...

just make a good guess and if you get in the wrong group they'll move it for you, no telling where it'll end up

you can unload the sheep in clone preferences, his data will be safe,
cd images, my son is a gamer, I am allergic to sheep

could we perhaps move this thread in its entirety, in case someone needs to read the entire script of it? that way, i don't have to write all this stuff out again...

all that stuff you said about sheep and clone went RIGHT over my head. ha! not really into gaming, so i couldn't make sense of ANY of those terms!!!

so mister chewy, could you please get this thread moved into decrypting/authoring, perhaps? pretty please???
