because i am not a good computer man and english ,can you read this and tell me more where to place the file to:

Download and decompress MakeTivoBootable somewhere where you can access it. I recommend putting it in the root directory (for example, D:\)of your TiVo backup drive (FAT32), but you could also put it on your Windows drive (NTFS or FAT32),

Confirm that you can execute MakeTivoBootable using the following commands:
cd /mnt/dos (This assumes that MakeTivoBootable is located in the root directory. If it is not, you will need to cd to the directory where it is located, e.g. if it were located in D:\downloads\tivo\, you would cd to /mnt/dos/downloads/tivo.)

i really do not know what to do with this instruction.thanks for help

it means put the exe on a folder on your hard disk, and make sure you know how to run it:

eg if you put it in c:\, type in c: , press enter, then cd /mnt/dos/maketivobootable.exe

maybe a batch-file might make it little easier
