URGENT!!!Please help!WinXP start

when i turned on my comp this morning,everything seemed fine,untill the "windows is starting up..." screen showed...and it lasted some time before my desktop was shown...but how(?!),only my desktop background without tray & icons!!!!and now its still in the same condition!

reboot, after the bios post screen, press F8 alternate with Ctrl until you get to the safe mode screen, choose "Last Known Good..."

i did that and it didnt work,but when it loaded to desktop)without icons etc...) i opened taskmanger and loaded normal start,and it worked...
now it must have had sth to do with me turning off some of the start apps...
as i allways have to do things on my comp that i have no idea of,i must have turned off sth important...so now i coluld check your guide postet up here

Best advice ever! I hate when I have to try and do something to my comp cause I only kinda know what I am doing...with msconfig when I changed what loaded..if I didn't know what it was...I didn't touch it..

if you think msconfig is dangerous, don't ever go into services

lol Well I don't know if I think it is dangerous or not Chewy but since I don't know enough about them....and I think that I feel that way about almost everything on my PC lol..I still might try your power user set up ...
