now i have this thing in my systemtray and cant find any way to get rid of it,i boot to safemode and ran all the spyware tools i had(adaware, ewido, spybot, zonealarm) and norton antivirus - and got nothing!!!and this stupid notification stil pops up from time to time from my systray!heres the picture...Attached FilesComment

I fought it for 2 hours, never could kill it, Cornholio(another geek) warned me
I would have to do a clean install. He was right. You catch it by going to the wrong web site thru a windows vulnerability, no amount of protection helps if windows is not updated to fix this critical hole in security!
think clean install, windows update and safe hex!Comment

format your system partition, reinstall windows from scratch, load drivers and programs all over again
(that's why I always have a backup computer or two)
safe hex is a play on words, from safe sex
practise safe computing(internet surfing)
running protection on your computer is like hollywood trying to stop people backing up a movie, somebody will always beat itComment

"reinstall windows from scratch" - - is this a play on words again?what does it mean from scratch...sorry for bothering with stupid questions, but my english isnt that far to understand everything...im just not geekish enough ha ha
and wanted to ask,how can i set up my windows cd to install servicepack right with the instalation of windowsLast edited by sonic_emperor; 28 Mar 2006, 11:39 PM.Comment

instead of installing(running) windows as a repair disk you delete(format hard drive) the old install and start new(from scratch).

just a note: make sure to full format and not quick format.

oh youre the famous geek even chewy listens...ha ha,
i was thinking of doing a quick format, cause full format seemed to stop at 5%,but i figured out i know nothing about the quick format,so i let it full went to watch a tv show, and when i came bak everything was ok...
thny both of you..in the mean time, are there any hotfixes against this thing?Comment

Corn.. is too shy to be famous but he's right a lot! Geek is a term I don't use
lightly. Of course if you look at his rep points vs his post counts.
windows update will fix the vulnerability to this problem, but not the next one that comes alongComment
