    Refresh Rate Issue

Some of you may remember me from the thread “PC Freeze During Encoding Process”.
Well that PC is dead; I thought I fixed the problem by under clocking the ram but one day I came home and it was dead, nothing was binging it back.
So I replaced the motherboard, ram, & DVD drive. This all brought my PC back to life and it runs just fine. However the display has these soft black lines rolling though it mostly horizontally tilting up from left to right. It appeared to be a refresh rate issue, it's really bad on white backgrounds. I first tried a different monitor and found the same problem. Theses lines can be temporally fixed be changing the refresh rate to 75 hertz, but after a short while it is bad again and I need to change the refresh rate down to 72 hertz for another temp fix. Nothing else seems to work, even updated the all the drivers.
My only guess now is the Video card, (currently I have a Gforce 5700LE,) I can only think that it did not like the move to new motherboard.
But before run off and buy a new Video card I wanted to see if any of you had any other thoughts.

Drivers are up to date. I do have the slow dell, but it does not have an AGP slot. But I guess I could Frankenstein up a test PC with all the parts I've collected.

My current MB has a 4X/8X AGP slot, I do have two older video cards but they are like 1X or 2X. It's my understanding that my 4X/8X MB will not accept a 1X card.

            they require 3 volts?
            Don't use!
Maybe borrow a cheap 8x vid card?

Ya, and the MB I'm thinking about testing on may not have compatible AGP for the 4X/8X. Hmmm, I'll need to ponder my next move..

No I did not reinstall Window, I am just working off the hard drive/Operating system I was using before my last MB died. I know it needs to be done though. Could that be a possible cause to my display problem?

well, maybe you deal with driver issues

make sure to clean up your former vga drivers (best solution is DRIVER CLEANER PE ) and re-install lastest nvidia driver

defintely try UNcasMS's suggestion, if that doesn't work,
did you run windows as a repair disk from boot cd when you
changed out the motherboard? That's a minimal requirement of
changing to another set of hardware chipsets(MoBo).

Thanks, I will first try UNcasMS's suggestion first. And no I did not run windows as a repair disk. I was under the impression that was not necessary. But hey live and learn. I'll will give this a try after work.
                        Thanks for the good ideas!
