    Canon ZR40 won't download to iMovie5

    Hello,
I am new to this forum and have a specific problem that I am unable to solve.
I have a Canon ZR40 digital camcorder. I am attempting to download video to my Dual 1.25gHz G4 Mac via a 4 pin (camera) to 6 pin(computer) firewire connection.
I have tried all the iMovie help tips, checked the Canon site which says no driver required works with 10.4.X
I did all the usual things-replaced back up battery, reset date/time, use external power source from camera, shut down comptuer and camera before connecting etc. I have camera set in VTR (playback) mode

The Firewire ports on computer work (checked with iPod)
Have tried 2 different 4-6 pin cables
On the screen of the camera it says DV IN when I have the cable connected to the computer.
Manual is very vague and useless.
Do I need a special cable? Or is there something increible simple that I am missing?
    Thanks for your help.

I don't use Mac but I've read an article about how to capture movie with Macintosh. It covers valuable and important information, and tips. Please check it out from the link below.

I found out the answer to my own question! I emailed Canon for an answer and it was as follows:
"If you do not see "DV IN," or if "DV IN" is blinking, then the camcorder
has a broken connection, or does not recognize any connection at all.
No connection indicates that either the camcorder DV port, the firewire
cable, or the computer's firewire port is faulty. At that point, we
would recommend either trying a different cable or connecting the
camcorder to a different computer to narrow down the possibilities."
Thus the answer to the blinking DV in-since I had tested all the other possibilites, it is the DV port on the camera. Luckily, I had spent the bucks to extend the warranty at Best Buy and it expires April 21, 2006. So my camera is in "the shop" and my question will hopefully help anyone else who has had this problem.
