HELP!!! using dvd shrink and nero

I am trying to backup a dvd of mine, and when dvd shrink is finished and I insert a blank disk I get the following message.... does anyone know what this means, and how I can fix this problem?

Free up some system memory. All of those icons next to your PC's clock. Right click on them, then left click on "Exit" before you start burning. You can also go <a href="http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56373">here</a> to learn how to stop these programs from starting up every time you reboot.

CMC MAG media is pure crap. Get some Verbatim brand or Taiyo Yuden brand media.

well that didn't work.... I got to the 'insert disk' portion, and all it did was start spinning and freeze up the system.

Loaded the Nero 6, and there is nothing running when I start to burn.

What do you mean by there is nothing running when you start to burn?

Also if you are having problems with Nero you can try using Imagburn it is free and very user friendly.

with this media and that laptop burner with no new firmware we are just wasting our time, the burner may be dead anyway
