Power Off in XP Pro

I'm sure with all the seasoned computer users somebody will know this.
I recently upgraded my wife's AMD700 from Win98SE to Win XP Pro 32bit.
In win98 when you shut down the case would power off. In XP it goes to it is now safe to turn off your computer.
Anyone know the settings to just power off?
I have search forever in help and this forum. Any Ideas?

It is not a good idea just turn the "power off" with any computer. The computer when it restarts thinks it has crashed. When you turn off the power normally, a restore point is set in your computer memory. The next time you use your computer and you download something that screws it up, you can always go to that restore point where it was operating properlly.

should be option in the bios, might be a delay setting (time the button must be held down for power off)

No luck on bios update search. It has MSI MS-6195 Motherboard. I might of not explained properly. I go to start menu, turn off computer and it then hangs on the screen to it is now safe to turn off computer (manually) In win98 it was automatic. On my Athlon64 it is automatic in XP pro. Maybe it is a safety feature for an older board? I'm no expert but I'm trying to learn.

Rightclick on your desktop area, click properties -> goto screen saver tab, click "Power...." button -> Goto Advanced Tab

Now see the options under Power buttons, you can choose what should happen if you press the power down button on your PC.

lol. Anything is an improvement over windows me. The worst in the bunch imoa. I have used everything from windows 95-xp pro and finally found one I was satisfied with.
