    mattcharles, you can't have your cake and eat it too.
    It was suggested that you do a clean install of windows, that is always the best option. Most experienced users don't hose their OS but every so often
    they clean install just because after enough time windows becomes corrupt.
    Well, I been had my cake and eating it lol.

    How do I do this now?

      you boot to the windows cd, and continue thru several screens till it sees
      your windows installation, then asks if you want to repair it or delete the partition. Don't sucker for the command console repair. Just keep on past that. Don't install another copy of windows.
