always been a weakness of dual core in single threaded apps, particularly DV. one task (or frames) depends on another, one core waits for the other to finish before it can continue

don't fake any electrical storms, you'll have to do the cpu and mobo and ram

especially since i splurged on a 320GB sata & kick ass microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse
