Microsoft Update....

i thought microsoft update actually scans for any available patches, but i dont even installed outlook 2003, but it just installs the patch anyway..... now my question, if i dont have it installed where the patch is going.....

do you have outlook at all?

yes outlook express, but not outlook 2003, i never installed it and the patch is for outlook 2003 ... 2 or 3 patches 12 mb or soo. they got installed by autoupdate, iv checked microsoft update and they wre there too as critical patches, they were shown at office update site also.

total 6 patches, 2 for outlook, 1 for one note, word, excel , powerpoint. i have office 2003 without outlook 2003 installed on my system.

maybe the updates are to common files shared, shouldn't be a problem
