Max PATA\SATA devices on 1 PSU plug

I have 2 DVD drives and 4 HDD installed in 1 box right now using a power splitter from the plug going to the DVD Drives and a power splitter on the plug going to the PATA dives. If I wanted to add 2 SATA drives would it be safe to split each leg again?.

Some lady from scotland named Dee has emphasized "clean power" for burning, OCer's preach about it. Haven't used a splitter for a long time.

Ah it must be my luck then been getting away with it for a long time with these cheapo PSU's I have. I got 2 DVD drives with a splitter going to a PATA HDD on a PCI card on one PSU lead, 2 PATA HDD with a splitter going to another PATA HDD on the same PCI card on the other lead. I have power management shutting the PATA drives down after 5 minutes idle. I got 2 SATA connections left on the PCI card I was gonna use if and when I got SATA drives. I guess if and when I wanna add more drives a PSU with more power leads is the way to go. THANKS

            Shhhhhhhh,
don't tell everyone this, we don't want people to start getting pretty burns and have stable computers.

over at cdfreaks they keep harping about this power supply

course they have to have a server case for all their drives

                1 x Main connector (24 pin)
                1 x 12V (P4)
                1 x 12V (8pin)
                9 x peripheral
                6 x SATA
                2 x Floppy
                2 x PCI-E

Yikes $159.99, ya know how many 30 packs of Red Dogs that is I'd fire up the PII 300 or the PIII 600 and put one on the network before I bought that or get real brave and try that 2 PSU to one thing on an old P90 I got laying around first. If I bought that I'd be like Red Foxx grabbing my chest and saying "Lizbeth here I come"
