    GSA-5169D another question for Chewey

Well I now got the new LG burner. Part of installation instructions say (Uninstall previous burning software you have loadedto avoid possible compatibility issues.Once you have installed the supplied software (Nero) you may if you wish reinstall previous software, taking note for errors )
Apart from Sonic, which I dont use there is also DVDecrypter and IMGburn. Should I uninstalll these ???????

Not yet tried it, but the advertised black case turned out to be same silver as PC, looks good if nothing else !!!!
Regards and thanks for previous advice....

As long as you don't have Roxio, Nero should coexist with the named programs just fine....sonic may be iffy, but you are probably OK. Definately leave DVD Decrypter and Imgburn on.

loco is right, I might add that nero will need to be updated, the supplied cd is always old and nero is buggy.

If Nero is 'buggy' do I need to load it, already use Decrypter and IMG, and copying files and pictures uses Sonic by default anyway....I can load rest of LG disc without Nero. Thanks, have held off installing so far, no hurry.

                  OK loco,
let's put you on the spot, you can only have one burning program on your computer, what would it be?

It does so many things that ImgBurn won't, a loaded question, knowing your experience and intelligence I already knew the answer.

My other essential burning app is clonecd(4.2.02)
course they outlawed it, but that was the start of slysoft

course for dual layer there's only ImgBurn

I should revamp my answer, if all I made were DL backups I would of coarse choose imgburn.

That was kind of a mean trick question....

You don't know how many times I typed out my answer and erased it...rationalizing. I'm just glad I don't really have to choose just one.

                            I'd rather not...
