NEC3570 Optiarc?

Finally found time to tinker around in the wifes XPS400 and found the DVD burner was an Optiarc. My googling came up with an NEC3570 given birth to by NEC after mating with Sony. Any info on this drive anyone?

That was quick. Thanks Night. I'm using a NEC 2510 on my Dimension 4600 . Wonder if I should swap drives. I can probably live without the 16X capability though.

google NEC 3570 you will find more to read, I never burn at 16x for real just testing, 8x all the time unless I know for sure then 12x but that are still testing

O nly reason the wife got first dibs on the XPS is because she promised me one of the 700 models with the core duo processor for my birthday.

duel core shrink very fast, gona cost you alot of HD later with all the file you need to keep up with shrink

Life is too short to wait..LOL Think I will sneak and do a few burns on the 3570 just to see how it does. I'll call it product testing. Wife only uses the DVD reader for those damned Sims. Good burner going to waste.
Edit. If she gets mad I will tell her Chewy instructed me to do so..LOL
