It mentions the affected ports, perhaps closing those ports on firewalls and routers might also help.
I never understood why the XP OS's were so vulnerable to begin with, by default it has everything wide open to being hit, and average pc users do not have a clue about that, its no wonder why the anti-virus software companies are flourishing. Good news for them....bad news for the end users.
Hopefully the new OS to be released will address these "leaks" before they put people through another series of "patch for the patch for the service pack patch".
